Ms. Heflin has been an administrator at Los Amigos for four years. Prior to becoming a Lobo, she worked at the GGUSD Office of 7-12 Instruction for two years and was a teacher at Fitz Intermediate for seven years. Ms. Heflin attended Sonoma State University (BA in English), Cal State Long Beach (credential in secondary education in English-Language Arts), and Cal State University Fullerton (Masters’ in Reading). She is continuing her education currently, working on her dissertation through Walden University, where she hopes to complete her Ed.D in Administrative Leadership within the next year. When Ms. Heflin is not helping students or watching Lobo athletic events, she loves spending time with her family and going on walks with her dog, Yahtzee. Ms. Heflin loves being a Lobo and working with the junior and senior classes… go Lobos!

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

       Ms. Garcia, 12th Grade Counselor

Ms. Garcia has been a counselor at Los Amigos for 6 years, prior to that she was a Supplemental Counselor at Bolsa Grade High School. Ms. Garcia is a Los Amigos alumni, she graduated in 2001. She attended Orange Coast College where she received an A.A. degree, then transferred to San Diego State University where she received a BA in Psychology and then got a Masters in Educational Counseling with a PPS credential at National University. Ms. Garcia enjoys working with her students. She hopes that they will make the best out of their high school years and go on to further their education.

September 25th ~ University at Albany representative will be on campus after school in IA-2.  Presentation will begin at 2:50.

 

October 1st: BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT ~ Come and have dinner with your parents, Tacos, Ice Cream and Shave Ice, and then show off Los Amigos.   Dinner will be served between 3:30 and 5:15.   Our general meeting starts at 5:30, and classroom visits begin at 5:50.   This is a great way to start the year off right.   Encourage your parents to come and meet your teachers, see the school, and know how to support you.   Let’s make this a record turn out, show your P.A.W.S Lobos, come out to Back to School Night October 1st! 

 

October 3rd ~ A representative from California State University of Fullerton will be on campus during lunch in the Little Theatre.  The presentation will begin at 12:10.

 

October 6th – 7th: SENIOR PORTRAITS ~ Lifetouch will be back on our campus for Senior Portraits on Monday, October 6th & Tuesday October 7th from 2:30pm-7pm in the FDR.  The portrait session fee is $25 for a basic yearbook package.  Students can sign up for an appointment time at go.lifetouch.com or call 714-823-4855.

 

November 10th – 17th ~ College Awareness Week!

 

January 9th: SENIOR LOCK-INSenior Lock-In 2015 will be Friday, January 9th! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. – Midnight. The price for this event is now only $15 with an ASB card and $20 without!  Permissions slips are due to Ms. Heflin no later than Wednesday, December  17th.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  It will be an activity packed, fun filled night, including a hypnotist show!  Don’t miss out on a night with your fellow seniors!  Hope to see you there!  Check-in begins at 6:00 p.m.  Doors close at 7:00 p.m.  *All students will be released at midnight.  Students will not be allowed to leave at any other time of the event.

 

January 21st: SENIOR ASSEMBLYAll seniors are to be at the Senior Assembly in the Little Theatre on Wednesday, January 21st at 8:30 am. This is when information regarding Cap & Gown purchases, announcements, and more will be discussed.

January 22nd: SENIOR FAMILY NIGHT - On this evening, we will have the opportunity for the Class of 2015 Families to attend one of our Financial Aid workshops as well as the opportunity to sign up and purchase all of your graduation needs with Scott Graduation. This evening is STRONGLY encouraged for all families, no matter if you are going to the community college, university, or trade school as well as to purchase all graduation necessities! We will have FAFSA workshops as well as the Dream Act Workshop. You do not want to leave either of these items to the last minute! This event will be from 5:30 – 8:00 pm in the Commons and Little Theatre and will be presented in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

 

February 18th: SENIOR MOB SHOTIt’s a Los tradition and you do not want to miss out! The Senior Mob Shot will by during Late Start in the quad on Wednesday, February 18th. More details to follow in February, but start planning now!

 

June 17th: GraduationGraduation will be held on June 17, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Garden Grove High School Stadium.  Tickets will be required for guests to attend.

 

June 19th: GRAD NITE - Seniors… Don’t miss out on the fun!  Celebrate your last day as a Lobo at Disneyland. Grad Nite will be held on Friday, June 19th. Tickets are now on sale for $80 with an ASB card and $85 without. Prices will go up and tickets are limited, so make a deposit today to lock in your price and reserve your ticket.  You may purchase your ticket or make a deposit in the Bookstore before school, after school, and during lunch.  Please be advised:  Once you are on Disney property, you are NOT allowed to leave unless you have completed a form with the Grad-Nite advisor or chaperone.
